About Amber Levine

I was born in a little mountain town called Durango. For as long as I can remember, I've been an artist, writer and dreamer. After graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor's in Journalism, I worked for Ogilvy in San Francisco as an advertising copywriter. After my husband joined the Marine Corps, I continued to work as a freelance copywriter until my first of three sons was born in 2008. 

My passion shifted to motherhood and I spent the next ten years working with babies in tow as a fitness instructor and life coach for Fit4Mom. Fitness training led me to spend the next five years working as a 200 hr certified private Yoga instructor.  All while pursing  my life-long passion of writing and editing novels. I've completed three YA novels and currently have my latest novel, Evie is Extra, on submission to agents. I've also attended at least a half  a dozen writing conferences, honed my storytelling skills, and helped two fellow writers edit their books for publication.

My passion for editing and storytelling led me to essay coaching. Under Justin Haven's intense mentorship (honed from 15 + years experience) I've learned the technique of crafting stand-out college essays. Over the last two years, I've worked in partnership with College Consulting Haven to help students get into top-tier schools all over the country including UCLA, Georgetown, and Babson. No matter what a student’s dream school may be, I am honored to be a small part of helping them get there.
