I was born in a little Colorado mountain town called Durango. Even from a young age, I've always been an artist, writer and dreamer. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's in Journalism, I worked as a copywriter for three years for Ogilvy in San Francisco. After my husband joined the Marine Corps, I continued to work as a freelance copywriter until my son was born in 2008.
Then, my passion shifted to motherhood. That's when I found Fit4Mom, and immediately knew I wanted to teach. Over the next nine years, I taught Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, and Body Back through two subsequent pregnancies, including leading hill sprints when I was 8 months pregnant. Mamas truly can do anything!
I have taught women through every stage of motherhood. From conception to thirty years after, but I've also taught clients of all ages and abilities in cardio/core classes with Fitness without Walls.
Now, after 10 years as a fitness trainer, my passion has shifted again to Yoga. There's something magical about connecting the body with the mind through breath and movement. Whether in a gentle flow, or a power vinyasa, I've never quite felt that connection to self as I do in yoga. It is this combination of spirituality, intellect, physicality and mediation that makes yoga one incredibly powerful hour of healing. Mind. Body. Soul.
I've earned certifications in Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Body Back (HIIT training) and am currently a 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher. For me, teaching fitness is all about passion and connection. No matter what style of class I'm teaching, I come ready to connect. My intention is first and foremost to help each and every client become the best version of themselves! To help them find strength in body, mind, and spirit.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt.
I truly believe my Dharma is to remind my clients of the beauty of their dreams. Your dreams are beautiful. You are beautiful. And you deserve exactly the life you've always wanted. I'm just here to give you a little nudge onto the right path. Your path. Consider this your nudge.

Commitment is hard. I know. But if not now, when? When will you make yourself a priority? When will you decide: Yes! I'm worth it!
If you put off reaching for your dreams until it's the perfect time, you'll never reach for them.
Now is the perfect time.
Reach.
If you miss a workout at the gym, the treadmill won't notice.
It won't hug you when you're down, or ask you about that hot date last weekend.
Group fitness = accountably and support. Someone to lean on when things get rough. Or celebrate with you when you reach another goal.
Hugs are healing, too.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale...
It's that simple.
Life is so much more stressful when we forget to breathe. So take this moment to check-in with you. Draw in a deep breath and remind yourself:
You got this!
Yoga is about more than just a workout. Yes, you workout. Yes, you sweat. But the real goal is to reconnect with your breath. I've taught many forms of fitness. High intensity interval training. Cardio/core. Barre. I still love to teach these sorts of classes, and plan to teach more, but yoga is the one practice that truly connects not just the mind and body, but the spirit as well. A great yoga teacher is a healer able to guide you on a journey back to yourself. This is the gift I wish to give each and every client, and it all begins with the breath.
Beginning September 1st, 2019 I'll be teaching a weekly Vinyasa Flow Class every Tuesday morning at NTC Park, Liberty Station. We'll meet under the tree near the bathrooms next to the parking lot on the corner of Womble and Cushing.

I am also available for private parties, and will be teaching sunset, beach yoga for a birthday party on September 1st!
Your first class is free! All you need to bring is a yoga mat, water, comfortable clothes, and your beautiful self. The rest will fall into place, I promise.
Come.
Breathe.
Move.
And embrace the journey.
Namaste!
