About Amber Levine

I was born in a little mountain town called Durango. Even from a young age, I've always been an artist, writer and dreamer. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's in Journalism, I worked for Ogilvy in San Francisco as a copywriter. After my husband joined the Marine Corps, I continued to work as a freelance copywriter until my first of three sons was born in 2008. 

My passion shifted to motherhood and I spent the next ten years as a fitness instructor and life coach for Fit4Mom. Followed by five years as a 200 hr certified private Yoga instructor. 

Through it all I never gave up on  my life-long passion of writing and editing novels. I've completed three YA Novels and currently have my latest novel, Evie is Extra, on submission to agents. I've also attended at least a half dozen writing conferences, honed my storytelling skills, and helped several fellow writers edit their books for publication.

My passion for editing and storytelling lead me to essay coaching. Under Justin Haven's intense mentorship (honed from 14 + years of experience) I've learned the compassion technique of crafting stand out college essays. Over the last two years, I've worked in partnership with College Consulting Haven to help students get into top-tier schools all over the country including UCLA, Georgetown, and Babson. No matter what a student’s dream school may be, I am honored to be a small part of the process to get them there.
